In 3rd Grade, the focus in math is on developing an understanding of multiplication and division and strategies for multiplying and dividing within 100. Students are also developing an understanding of fractions, especially unit fractions (fractions with numerator 1). Students also form an understanding of the structure of rectangular arrays and of area. They are describing and analyzing two-dimensional shapes.
