4th Grade Mathematics

4th Graders instructional time focuses on three critical areas: Multiplication and Division, Fractions, and Geometry. More specifically, 4th grade students are:

  • developing an understanding and fluency of multi-digit multiplication and division 
  • developing an understanding of equivalent fractions, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, and multipliying fractions by whole numbers
  • understanding that geometric figures can be analyzed and classified based on their properties including parallel and perpendicular sides, angle measures, and symmetry.
